Bawumia will nominate a running mate who will complement him – Miracles Aboagye

the flagbearer will nominate his running mate, and it will be one that will complement him, one that would complement his strength and weaknesses, one that will bring to bare and enhance the chances of the NPP winning the next elections and leading Ghana into the next transformational age and the next chapter of our development.”

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Bawumia’s campaign communications director, has asked New Patriotic Party members to be patient with Dr. Bawumia as he selects his running mate.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, Mr. Aboagye stated that the party’s flagbearer will choose someone who will be a good fit for him in the December election.

“Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia was elected barely six months ago. Let’s give him time. When was he himself nominated in 2008? He was nominated in August 2008 to become a running mate to Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo so for us in the NPP, we are not running behind time, we are not running against schedule, we are on time, we are within our own calendar, we know what we are doing and at the right time, the flagbearer will nominate his running mate, and it will be one that will complement him, one that would complement his strength and weaknesses, one that will bring to bare and enhance the chances of the NPP winning the next elections and leading Ghana into the next transformational age and the next chapter of our development.” He added

Meanwhile, many names have already surfaced as favourites to fill the running mate position.

Notable among them are the Energy Minister, Mathew Opoku Prempeh; the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Adu Twum, the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong and Irene Naa Torshie Addo.
