Bosome Freho: Assemblymen reject Akufo-Addo’s appeal to maintain under fire DCE

“We cannot work with the DCE in Bosome Freho. We want the president to as a matter of urgency save the shame that he has brought to himself. Either he promotes him to the Presidency, Regional Minister or Regional Chairman.”

Elected Assemblymen in the Bosome Freho District of the Ashanti Region say they will not back down on their decision to get their Chief Executive removed from office.

The Assemblymen accuse Yaw Danso of causing divisions within them and stifling development in the area.

A presidential delegation led by Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah was in the area Thursday to resolve all outstanding issues. But the Assemblymen say the DCE’s continuous stay in office will create confusion in the district.

They are urging the president to sack the DCE by Tuesday or proceed to pass their ‘no confidence vote’.

One of the Assemblymen Boakye Maxwell De-Graft said:

“We cannot work with the DCE in Bosome Freho. We want the president to as a matter of urgency save the shame that he has brought to himself. Either he promotes him to the Presidency, Regional Minister or Regional Chairman.”

“We respect the President’s decision to intervene but his continuous stay in office will affect NPP’s breaking the 8. He should resign or be sacked. We are giving the office of the president up to Tuesday to remove him or we go ahead to pass a vote of no confidence to get him out of office”.
