CAMFED Ghana supports School Children in its operational districts

CAMA had been supporting CAMFED Ghana with the implementation of its strategies to reduce poverty and secure the rights of young girls to go to school

CAMFED Association (CAMA), has supported the payment of school fees and medical bills for school children across its operational districts to promote quality education. The gesture aims to enhance accessibility to quality education and health care services to both young boys and girls within the stated areas.

National Chairperson of the Association, Miss Karima Mohammed, indicated that CAMA had also supported about 25,499 school children with learning materials in the communities as means of promoting quality education especially for young girls in rural areas.

She said this during CAMA Ghana’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) as part of the organization’s 25th anniversary celebration, held in Tamale. It was on the theme: “Beyond 25 Years of Impact: CAMA’s Role in Achieving CAMFED’s 2024-2029 Strategy”.

According to her, CAMA had been supporting CAMFED Ghana with the implementation of its strategies to reduce poverty and secure the rights of young girls to go to school and become influential women.

National Director of CAMFED Ghana, Madam Fairuza Safian, commended the Association for its continuous contributions towards the growth and development of young people, especially girls.

She said CAMA members played key roles by providing them with the social support they needed to do well in school and beyond.

She said they had also partnered with business leaders to create job opportunities, for young girls, while supporting more vulnerable children to become successful.

She added that CAMA was Africa’s largest and fastest-growing peer support and leadership network of women activists educated with CAMFED support.
