Below is a full statement from the intellectual wing;

ENSURE A PROPER POLICY BACKING FREE WATER CONSUMPTION.

We welcome the decision taken by his Excellency the president of the republic of Ghana during this trying times , it is a bold step.

But we recommend a policy to back the free water supply for these three months ranging from April through to June.

For, example water owned by a community has its own way of paying their workers.

A case study is using Tano south water board which spends Twenthy thousand Ghana cedis (Ghc. 20, 000) each month to purchase power to energise the pumping to supply the community.

Assuming this community encounters a damage within either of the above months , one could imagine where and how it could be restored for continuous supply of water to such a community.

Tein UEW-Mampong is calling on government to put proper measures in place to battle the cost of all these situations.

It is the hope of TEIN NDC UEW that , this one too of Coronavirus shall pass and we shall resume normalcy . We also wish infected persons , quick recovery and our prayers are with them .

Thank you all ….!!!

TEIN NDC UEW-Mampong together we build.

Collins Owusu Boakye ..
President TEIN, University of Education Winneba.
