E-levy: Huruna Iddrisu rejects 1.5% proposal by NPP

...tells government to drop it completely.

 

The minority leader in parliament has sent a strong signal to the governing NPP, that, his side of the house will not accept nothing far from a complete rejection of the E-Levy.

In the latest twist of event in parliament, the minister of finance, who is seeking to push the bill through parliament, proposed an amended reduction from 1.75 to 1.5, to the house as part of effort to get the house to reach a compromise.

But, the leadership of the NDC, through Hon Haruna Iddrisu has insisted, it won’t have anything to do with the obnoxious policy, stating that, his side of the house will stand by the sentiments of the people of Ghana, who are already going through hard times under this current government.

He indicated that, the NDC under his leadership in the house won’t be part of any policy that brings more hardship to the average Ghanaian.
