E/R: One dead, soldier injured over alleged disturbances in Kwahu Oyemso

However, the DCE admitted to providing complete details about the incident on Republic FM’s Anopa Dawuro morning show on Friday, March 8.

One person is dead and a soldier injured over alleged disturbances in Oyemso, a farming community in the Kwahu East District.

It is unclear what caused the unfortunate incident.

However, sources told the media, that the disturbances could be linked to Fulani herdsmen and farmer feuds in the area.

RepublicOnline sources are also linking the incident to a chieftaincy dispute. They say a similar incident happened some weeks ago, which resulted in the destruction of properties, including the burning of vehicles.

Hon. Isaac Agyapong, the District Chief Executive for Kwahu East, confirmed the incident to myrepubliconline.com’s Andy Frimpong Manso over the phone, admitting that there was an unfortunate situation recorded in his jurisdiction but was unable to specify what caused the disturbances.
