Education is NPP government priority – Yaw Osei Adutwum
“We are here to talk about digitalization in our high schools, since assuming power in 2017, this government has prioritized education and proceeded to demonstrate this commitment.
The Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment in prioritizing education to enhance and improve the standard of education in the country.
According to him, the Nana Addo Dankwa led government is keen on investing massively in the country’s education system since “an investment in knowledge pays the best interest”. He said his government, through the Free Senior High School initiative, has improved access to second cycle education and now seeks to create a pipeline for the next generation of Ghanaians from kindergarten to senior high schools to get access to quality education.
“After improving access to secondary education, we are now enhancing the quality, so that we create a pipeline for the next generation of Ghanaians, from our kindergartens, through primary schools, through our Junior High Schools to our Senior High Schools.”
“When I talk about our manifesto plans, we did not promise in our manifesto that we are going to transform kindergartens and primary schools and make them centers of excellence but it is happening under the leadership of the President.”
Hon. Osei Adutwum, made this assertion during the launch of the Ghana Smart Schools Project in Accra on Monday, 25th March, 2024.
Hon. Osei Adutwum, stressed on the significance of digitalization of education in our Senior High School as he is of the view that such initiative is a key driver of national development, economic growth, and social progress that empowers individuals, communities, and the nation as a whole.
“We are here to talk about digitalization in our high schools, since assuming power in 2017, this government has prioritized education and proceeded to demonstrate this commitment.
“When it was said, Free Senior High School was impossible, the government went ahead to prove otherwise and today, some 5.7million are on to it, brothers and sisters have benefited from the program, we have produced some impressive outcomes and results from the West African Senior High School Certificate Examination.” The Minister disclosed.
