EOCO Indicts Afful-Broni and Others for Procurement Breaches
The Member of Parliament for the Effutu constituency in the Central Region, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has written to the Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) demanding immediate action on the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) report, which indicts Prof. Afful-Broni, the Vice Chancellor of the University on issues of misappropriation.
In a letter dated October 24, 2019 and addressed to the Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, and intercepted by ghananewsonline.com.gh, the vociferous MP noted that, a thorough investigation conducted by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) has exonerated the former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mawutor Avoke and his Finance officer, Dr. Theophilus Ackorlie Senyo of any wrong doings.
It will be recalled that, the two were sacked for misappropriation and mismanagement of funds of UEW.
Hon. Afenyo-Markin has therefore called on the council to act according to the EOCO report to ensure that justice is effected on behalf the parties and also allow peace and tranquility to prevail in the University.
Attached is Hon Afenyo-Markin’s letter to the Governing Council and the EOCO report.
