Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta consults academia, CSOs on formulation of 2024 budget statement

The Ministry, it believes that these engagements with the academia and CSOs will further deepen collaborations toward restoring macroeconomic stability and growth for the Ghanaian economy.

The Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, has commenced consultations with academia and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) on the development of the 2024 Budget Statement.

Reports indicate that the Finance Minister is scheduled to meet with the academia and CSOs on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, to take their inputs into the formulation of the 2024 budget.

Notable CSOs such as IMANI-Ghana, the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), the Institute for Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER), and the African Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) among others, as well as the Economics Department of the University of Ghana (UG), the Univerity of Cape Coast (UCC), and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), will be expected to make significant inputs into the formulation of the budget.

According to the Ministry, it believes that these engagements with the academia and CSOs will further deepen collaborations toward restoring macroeconomic stability and growth for the Ghanaian economy.
