Ghana has one of the highest rates of access to electricity because of NDC – Mahama

Mr. Mahama revealed that the late Prof. John Evans Atta Mills is one of the best presidents Ghana had because during their regime, they provided health facilities in many districts and regions, educational facilities and they were able to remove more than three thousand (3000) schools under trees.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has indicated that a lot of Ghanaians, especially those living in the rural areas have access to electricity because of the good works done by the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.

According to the flagbearer of the NDC, Ghanaians should thank the NDC if the country has one of the highest rates of access to electricity.

Speaking at the North East region to end his tour, Mr. Mahama stressed that the 8 years of the NDC under the leadership of the late former president, John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills extended electricity to as many communities as possible and that is what Ghanaians are benefiting today.

“We built more than four thousand (4000) CHIPS compounds, we built roads and highways, we provided water to people, I had the privilege of commissioning the Bungulugu water system, and we extended electricity to as many communities as possible. If communities have lights today and Ghana has one of the highest rates of access to electricity, then it is thanks to the NDC administration.” He said.

Adding that working with the late former president was a great privilege for him since he has learnt a lot when it comes to governance.

He said there is no school in Ghana that can teach you how to become a president, the former president stated that to be a good president, you have to learn on the job.

Mr. Mahama revealed that the late Prof. John Evans Atta Mills is one of the best presidents Ghana had because during their regime, they provided health facilities in many districts and regions, educational facilities and they were able to remove more than three thousand (3000) schools under trees.

“I had the experience, there is no school where you will go and pay school fees and enroll and say I want to learn how to be president. You have to learn on the job, lucky for me I got the experience working with a very good, honest, one of the best presidents we had in Ghana, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills. And so as I president, we did something well, we did a lot of infrastructure, we provided health facilities in many districts and regions, we provided educational facilities, in the 8 years when Prof. and myself in the government, we removed more than three thousand (3000) schools under trees” He stated.
