Ghana is likely to experience”Dumso” in the next two years – Kwabena Donkor

The former Minister further said, the demand for power in the country increases per cent (7) per cent each year and for the teariest five years, Ghana has not generated a single megawatt to the national grid.

The Member of Parliament Pru East and a former Minister for Power, Mr Kwabena Donkor have sounded a word of caution to the government that, Ghana may be experiencing power outages (Dumso) if nothing is done on our current power generation capacity.

He said, on February 15 this year, Ghana’s peak power demand was 3,343mwt whilst total available power was 3,527mwt, this means that Ghana only had 180mwt of research is dangerous to us as a country.

The former Minister further said, the demand for power in the country increases per cent (7) per cent each year and for the teariest five years, Ghana has not generated a single megawatt to the national grid.

He added that government and policymakers should take immediate steps to resolve the situation before things get out of control.
