“Travellers may transit through, depart from and stay in the territory of both countries for a cumulative period of up to ninety (90) days without recourse to work.”

Ghanaians can now visit South Africa without visa for a period of three months (90 days), Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Ministry announced on Friday (13 October).

The directive means that persons with ordinary Ghana passport who desires to stay beyond 90 days would need to apply for a visa to enter South Africa.

“The Republic of Ghana and the Republic of South Africa have entered into an agreement on a visa waiver regime for holders of ordinary passport,” the press statement said.

“The agreement takes effect from 1 November 2023,” it added.

“Travellers may transit through, depart from and stay in the territory of both countries for a cumulative period of up to ninety (90) days without recourse to work.”
