Give Timely Offering to God – Rev. S.K Boafo tells Christians

Head Pastor of City Temple International Ministries (CTIM) Rev. Dr. Hon S.K Boafo has urged Christians to endeavour to make timely offering to God to enable them receive the blessings therein.

He noted that such offerings go with concomitant blessings for the offerer. As such, it should come from one’s heart, and also extended to humanity as well; i.e. assistance to fellow human beings into times of need.

Rev. Boafo gave this advice in a moving sermon in the auditorium of the church at Tentra Hill in Accra last Sunday. He pointed out that such offerings attract God’s attention and favour. As such, they should be genuine and without question.

Citing Genesis 27; 20, he pointed out that it was such timely offering that enabled Jacob receive blessings from his aging father Isaac, the criticisms associated with it notwithstanding. Buttressing his point further with Luke 7:37-38 and Matthew 26:7-14, he recounted how a sinful woman got her sins forgiven here because of her timely offer of an alabaster of costly anointing oil. This, Rev. Boafo pointed out that, though it attracted the criticisms of those around, the sinful woman got her salvation in the long run.

DISPISE CRITICISMS AND GO TO GOD

Rev. Boafo maintained that in all those cited circumstances, the offerers met criticisms. Yet they met the ultimate for which they made these offerings. According to him, doing the work of God often attracts criticisms from all corners, even including service in the church. But in all these, one should not be deterred by such criticisms, but should surge forward in their bid to serve their maker. He argued that one knows why he/she is in this world, and their obligation to God. Therefore they should endeavour to go to God, serve him without any hindrance. According to him, going to God does not require any protocol. Rev. Boafo also admonished Christians against hypocrisy in times of offering. This, he said, should not necessarily have to be like the Biblical. Windows might, but a free, genuine and unadulterated timely offering to God will attract a befitting reward from Him.

IDENTIFY AREAS OF NEED IN THE SOCIETY, DO GOOD

Rev. Boafo urged the timely offerer, not to necessarily wait to be prompted to make such offers. Rather, they should identify the areas of need in the society, community church etc to offer these timely assistance for their concomitant rewards.

DO GOOD TO ALL PEOPLE

Citing Galatians 6:10, Rev. Boafo charged Christians to endeavor to do good to all manner of persons. In so doing, one will overcome evil. “Do good to those who need help.

If you are in the ability to help don’t hesitate. Go ahead to do it, and don’t resort to ‘Go and come, go and come”, he admonished.

The Reverend Minister noted that though doing good could be frustrating and discouraging at times, especially where one fails to receive acknowledgement from his beneficiaries, they should go ahead to do it as the reward emanates from God.
