Global Pandemic: DCE commends President Akufo-Addo’s pro-activeness

The District Chief Executive for Ellembelle in the Western Region, Kwasi Bonzo, has commended President Akufo-Addo for his swift response to the fight against Coronavirus pandemic in the country. He was speaking in an exclusive interview with Opera News.

According to him the president has been very proactive in mitigating the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic by moving swiftly to close the country’s borders to stop expatriates and other nationals from importing the virus into the country. He said this singular act and others have have made President Akufo-Addo a leading example in Africa.

He said since the outbreak of the novel Covid-19 in the country, the Ellembelle district has done its bit to ensure that people adhere to the precautionary measures that have been prescribed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The DCE noted that enforcing the precautionary measures was challenging initially, however, ever since the region recorded it’s first case, the residents have started adhering to the measures.

He said the assembly has distributed over 500 Veronica buckets and sanitary items to the various public places within the district so as to curb the spread of the disease.
