“I have realized the roads here is very bad, I learnt there was a contractor on site but has left, this is not a road that we can ignore, so I promised you that my Ministry will put things in place to ensure that the road is done at the appropriate time for you to also enjoy the good deeds of the New Patriotic Party”.

The Minister for Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency, Hon. Francis Asenso Boakye, accompanied by his Deputy, Hon. Stephen Jalula, and the Bono East regional Minister, Hon Akewsi Adu Gyan, have conducted an inspection of the Buoyem, Mesidan, and Asuyei road in the Techiman North District of the Bono East Region.

The aim of the inspection by the Roads and Highways Minister and his entourage was  to assess the infrastructure needs of the said communities as residents in those areas have given the government an ultimatum to construct their roads or forget about the upcoming December polls.

During the inspection, the officials engaged with local chiefs and residents to assure them of the government’s commitment to construct their roads. The Minister and his Deputy pledged to mobilize resources promptly to undertake the construction of the roads in Buoyem, Mesidan, and Asuyei.

Buoyemhene, Dasebre Kwarteng Ameyaw Amanipong, explained that the poor road network has affected the living standard of the residents of the said communities due to the unmotorable nature of the roads.

He cited that drivers refuse to ply the road during the night due to armed robbery activities and other dangers  they encounter during the night.

“Road Minister, due to the poor nature of roads, it has been targeted by armed robbers, they sometimes attack people on the Bouyem – Mesidan, they sometimes also do that on the road leading to Asuyei.

“Drivers refuse to use the road at night even when we have an emergency case, so the person who needs the medical at night will not get it because the drivers won’t go due to the armed robbery incidents on the road.” He said

He again added that Buoyem has a lot of tourist sites but due to the poor road people are unable to access these sites.

Dasebre Kwarteng Ameyaw Amanipong, disclosed that the people of  Buoyem, Mesidan, and Asuyei are looking forward to the realization of better road infrastructure that will enhance mobility, connectivity, and overall well-being in their respective areas.

Hon. Francis Asenso Boakye, while addressing the gathering said his ministry will as a matter of urgency see to the construction of the road to provide relief to the residents in those communities.

“I have realized the roads here is very bad, I learnt there was a contractor on site but has left, this is not a road that we can ignore, so I promised you that my Ministry will put things in place to ensure that the road is done at the appropriate time for you to also enjoy the good deeds of the New Patriotic Party”.

“Nana said this place is a tourist center, so we will prioritize the construction of the road so that more tourist will visit this place for the district assembly to generate revenue to develop this place” He said
