election2024

Moving from Prayer Ministry to a full-fledged Sunday church worship barely a year ago, Havilah City of Prayer International Ministry has transformed tremendously, moving from analogue to digital, courtesy Junior Pastor JP Nyamekye.

With devotion and commitment, coupled with hardwork, JP Nyamekye, in concert with church elders (Mighty Men and Women as they are called) the young church is moving fast in all aspects including increased membership by the day.

It goes without saying that prayers, ministration, healing, prophecies, testimonies, deliverance and many more that abound in the church, have not only gone high, but also possibly digital in line with the church’s upward advancement.

With an ever-increasing membership by the day, the church is thus able to reach out to over 5,000 people via its Facebook portal, “Havilah City of Prayer International Ministry”, having come about by the hardworking Junior Pastor, Nyamekye. Also, the church is able to reach out to worshippers outside the overfilled church room via TV sets placed outside.

FORWARD EVER

In line with its forward match, Head Pastor of the church, Prophet Rev. Gershion Gbedemah, whose mind bugging activities has earned him the nick-name “Pap Gee” by his enthusiastic congregants that besides meeting the spiritual aspects of the people, the church is not going to renege on its social responsibilities to the people.

Subsequently, the church is going to give assistance to needy but brilliant students in the church as well as the vulnerable members amongst them.

The young and dynamic Pastor attributed this success story to his mighty men and women, paying special tribute to his ever committed and hardworking JP Nyamekye. He pointed out that in order for the church to transcend into bigger performances, he has formed a Board of Directors to direct the activities of the church to chalk more successes.

A GOOD LEADER

He opined that a good Leader is one who surrounds himself with people who can advise him. Such a Leader, he pointed out, should in turn adhere to the judicious advice of such chosen, tested, tried and proven leaders.

Pap Gee also was of the view that a good foundation is one that out leads its leaders. He indicated that since he believes in the betterment of the people, not only spiritually, but physically as well, he also has special interest in investing in the lives of the people. In this regard, he stated that if his resources are limited he sows. A process, which he intimates brings about success.

CHIEF STORMS CHURCH

The Pastor, his elders and congregants at the Church were shocked to the marrow, when midway unto their service on June 13, 2021, the Chief of the town, Nana Ahwi Armah II and one elder stormed the church.

Having thus brought the gayous service to a halt, JP sought to know the mission of the Chief.

Apparently, it was a visit for paying gratitude to the church for an offer done him previously after his enstoolment a few months ago. According to the Chief, he had, on many occasions tried to render the church his profound gratitude for that. However, each time he intended to come to church, he learned that the Pastor was away hence his impromptu visit, having heard that the Pastor was in church that day.

Nana then advised the congregants to endeavour to worship God the true way, emanating from their hearts, and avoiding this “Kwesi Amankwah Kristosom tendency” (hypocrisy in worship). Telling the congregants that he was a Pentecostal Elder, Nana told them that it is true worship of God that ensures one’s entry into heaven, but not tongue-speaking or speaking in tongues.

Through J.P Nyamekye, and on behalf of Pastor Gershion and the church, gratitude was offered by the church to Nana. Pastor Gershion, anointing the Chief, prayed for wisdom as that of Solomon for Nana, stressing that leading the people through chieftaincy is not that easy, hence his quest of wisdom from God for the Chief.

Nana in turn, promised a parcel of land for the church. Pastor Gershion thanking him for the offer, pointed out that the church had already acquired a land to build on, he said that the chief’s offer will be used for the building of a school. Havilah is barely one year old, yet performing wonderfully.
