Health-Related Professional geared up for 5th annual Africa Interdisciplinary Health Conference
The three-day hybrid conference seeks to showcase and discuss innovative health-related researches with emphasis on the importance of interdisciplinary exchanges.
Health-related professionals including clinicians, researchers, and academics as well as students in the medical and allied health science will converge at the 5th Annual Africa Interdisciplinary Health Conference (AfIHC) organized by Push Aid Africa, a non-governmental organization based in Ghana and the United States of America(USA). The three-day hybrid conference seeks to showcase and discuss innovative health-related researches with emphasis on the importance of interdisciplinary exchanges.
Dr Jerry John Nutor, an Assistant Professor at University of California San Francisco and the Secretary General of AfIHC, explained that the conference is a remarkable event that brings together healthcare professionals from all disciplines including governmental, non-governmental and bilateral organizations in Africa under one roof to deliberate on interdisciplinary health research and collaborations in Africa.
He further indicated that, the conference is a peer-reviewed forum that gives participants an opportunity to showcase their innovative health-related researches, meet and exchange ideas with global network of colleagues while learning about the latest research and interdisciplinary projects. AfIHC is unique because it emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary exchange and therefore welcomes participants from a wide range of health-related disciplines” he noted.
Dr Nutor emphasis that the conference represents a tremendous opportunity for educators, clinicians, administrators, policymakers, specialists and researchers across all health disciplines and would be of great benefit to all participants. He encouraged all healthcare professionals, academic and researchers to take advantage of the event and discuss their research findings to promote evidence-based practices related to the health sector in Africa.
Some of the speakers at the conference includes, Kelly L’Engle – Associate Professor, Director – PBH Behavioral Health Concentration- University of San- Francisco, USA, N. Benjamin Fredrick, Professor of Family and Community Medicine, and Public Health Science and Humanities, Pennsylvania State University, College of Medicine-USA, Margaret Gyapong, Professor and Director, Institute of Health Research, University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho, Ghana, and many other astute speakers from Africa and other parts of the world. There will also be a special panel of Vice Chancellors across Africa who will discuss how university leadership can promote interdisciplinary health research in Africa.
AfIHC 2022 is being organized in collaboration with Africa Interdisciplinary Research Institute and scheduled for the 13th -15th of July 2022 (8am – 5pm) at the Center for Africa Wetlands Conference Facility, University of Ghana.
