Henry Quartey halts demolition of unlawful structures at Ramsar sites in Accra

“We will go through some processes of discussions, and we will have this kind of meeting again in about three weeks’ time by which time we would have had a clear road map.”

The Greater Accra Regional Minister Henry Quartey has stopped the  demolition of unlawful structures raised Ramsar site, Sakumono in Accra despite initial plans to do so.

He revealed this during a stakeholder meeting in Accra on Sunday November 6.

He explained that that the government has put in place measures to regularise the building after the inventory done by the team.

The Ayawaso Central lawmaker told the gathering that “I want to say here and now that not a single building will be demolished.

“We will go through some processes of discussions, and we will have this kind of meeting again in about three weeks’ time by which time we would have had a clear road map.”
