Holy Garments Portray Holy Living – Pastor Observes
The former Head of Bethel Baptist (BB) Association in Sefwi, Rev. Jerry king Tewiah, has observed that holy garments portray holy living. Subsequently, those who down them should refrain from all acts of unholiness and sin, since holy garments are, symbols of holiness from God.
Citing Exodus 28:1-3, Leviticus 16:4 and others therein to buttress his point, Rev. Tewiah pointed out that priesthood, that goes with the downing of Holy garments is a calling from God. It is against this background that all priests in God’s holy garments maintain holiness in all aspects of their lives.
Rev. Tawiah made this observation during the “Robing Ceremony” of Rev. Augustine Oppong-Boadi as resident pastor for the Juaboso BBC at the church’s Premises at Juaboso last Sunday November 10, 2019.
With the theme “Robing for a special Assignment” Rev. Tewiah noted that the wearing of God’s holy Garments stands one out of the lot, to carry out special assignment and duties. In this regard one must refrain from un-holiness, haughtiness, arrogance and down the garment of humility, Patience and forbearance
GARMENT FOR CONSECRATION
Rev. Tewiah pointed out that besides portraying God’s beauty and glory, holy garments are also meant for consecration. As such, Rev. Oppong-Boadi should not disregard his calling from God for man’s ways because it is God who has called him and set him apart. He should therefore identify the environment in which he is working and work assiduously to the satisfaction of God.
“Respond to know your assignment to identify it. Don’t rely on someone to identify it for you.Know where (environment) you are working. It is difficult, but with God, everything will be possible” he advised.
STUDY TO APPROVE YOURSELF
While stressing that it is the word of God that has sustained some of them all this while Rev. Tewiah charged Rev. Oppong-Boadi to study the word to approve himself; thatthe word must be his focus and to pursue the presence of God every time, every day, everywhere, trusting in it as some of them had, stressing that was the only garment and source of power from God.
He opined that not all problems were spiritual, saying that most problems emanated from things people do or hung on to.
STAY AWAKE, ALERT, AWARE
Rev. Tewiah further charged the new priest to stay awake, alert and aware, citing Nehemiah 4:7-9 as his support verse. He hinted that Satan would not be happy with whatever the new pastor was out there to do, especially the Robing of the new garment, which would seriously attract his (the devils) attention.
While charging him to cooperate with the church and its elders Rev. Tewiah urged Rev. Oppong – Boadi to cooperate with the church, stop something wrong from growing bigger, while killing all that God hates
ONE FOR THE CHURCH
Further basing his sermon on Exodus 17:8-14 Rev. Tewiah charged the church to cooperate with the new priest since he could not do things all alone he subsequently charged the church to support him all aspects spiritual, physical, financial material, etc, in order to make the church grow from strength to strength to the very glory of God
