Suspected Armed Robber gunned Down by Police was an NPP Activists & NPP Govt Appointee

President John Mahama has been vindicated once again! His assertion time and again and repeated recently that the rise in crime rate in the country especially armed robbery and the bravado with which it is carried out in broad day light is being committed by thugs associated with and receiving protection from this government came to pass once again when a suspected armed robber a police anti-armed robbery squad killed while he was trying to flee from arrest turned out to be an activist of the NPP.

Yaw Adjei Danso until he was gunned down was not only an NPP activist who contested for the position of NPP Kwahu Afram Plains South Constituency Organizer but was also the NPP government’s appointee Kwahu Afram Plains South District.

According to information gathered by this paper, he was picked on Thursday, 4th November, at Ekye Amanfrom, a community in Afram Plains by the police anti-robbery team after their investigations revealed he had been part of the robbery incidents at Afram Plains recently. On their way to Donkorkrom, the divisional police headquarters, it is alleged he tried running away, leading to his being gunned down by the police.

In 2018, identity cards found on suspected armed robbers identified by their victims at East Legon during an identity parade revealed they were card bearing members of the NPP and workers at the seat of the Presidency, Jubilee House.

Former President John Mahama has repeated severally that the armed robberies were being carried out by members of the various vigilante groups formed by the ruling NPP government. He said rather than being prosecuted when they are arrested, they received state protection and cover and are often released to go scot-free
