Is Kojo Oppong Nkrumah aiding and abetting crime at the National Security?

Whatsup News is in possession of intercepted reports from the National Security which showed how Asomani and his henchman, Osei Tutu have caused a war at the Tema harbour over the secret petroleum hoarding deal.

In a rather suspicious move, the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah held a press conference that gave the Deputy National Security Coordinator, Edward Asomani, a platform that legitimized his position, despite reports that he [Asomani] is under investigations for stealing fuel.

Asomani on May 22, 2022, spoke about the threat of terrorism to Ghana and the need for the country to be vigilant over potential attacks.

However, the same Asomani has been fingered for using his “boys” at the National Security, including the notorious Nana Osei Tutu to hijack petroleum from several fuel bunkering companies who are currently pissed and could very much ricochet into violence.

Investigations by Whatsup News indicate that the Akufo-Addo administration is secretly funding the stockpiling of petroleum products to stave off an imminent fuel crisis in the country, but rogue elements at the National Security, including Asomani are having a field day with the petroleum products.

Whatsup News is in possession of intercepted reports from the National Security which showed how Asomani and his henchman, Osei Tutu have caused a war at the Tema harbour over the secret petroleum hoarding deal.

The two reports seen by Whatsup News show that Asomani’s boy, Osei Tutu and one “Darlington” are using mafia-styled tactics to hijack petroleum from several companies, including Zupoil Limited.

So far, over 230,000 litres of petrol have reportedly been diverted by Osei Tutu and Asomani to unknown locations.

Asomani is a loyalist of Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, the notorious cousin of President Akufo Addo and was appointed to his current position by President Akufo Addo from the Danquah Institute, a partisan governance think-tank founded by Mr. Otchere-Darko.

According to memos from the National Security secretariat intercepted by Whatsup News, whenever shipping vessels come to discharge petroleum at the Tema Port, a band of National Security operatives invades the port; chase away the official customs officers and national security officers at the port and steal thousands of litres of petrol to an unknown location in Abelenkpe-Accra.

In a memo dated April 12, 2022, issued from the National Security liaison officer at the Tema Port, on April 9, 2022, a shipping vessel, MV CAP Formosa bringing petroleum products to Zupoil Limited berthed at the port and started discharging petrol into six huge tankers without notifying Tema port authorities or the National Security agents and customs officers stationed at the port.

Approximately 162,000 litres of petroleum worth some GHC 1.4 million were clandestinely loaded onto the fuel tankers with registration numbers: GC 4037-21, GN 999-20, GN 574-21, GM 1704-14 and HW 999-18.

After they were filled up, the tankers were led away without going through the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) as the standard procedure requires. This means that the circumvention of port authorities and TOR will result in Ghana losing several hundreds of thousands of Ghana cedis in import duties that should be paid by Zupoil.

“No customs officer from (TOR) was detailed to officially escort the products (tanker) for duties to be paid. The Customs officers at TOR were not officially aware of the evacuation of petroleum products from MV CAP FORMOSA (Vessel)…,” the intercepted memo from the Tema port read.

The band of dirty security agents that spirited the stolen petroleum away were led by Osei-Tutu, a notorious character who is currently serving as the Director of the Signals Unit and Emergency Response Unit of the National Security.

In what confirms speculations that Osei Tutu and Asomani are favorites of the Jubilee House, in 2020, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah undertook a similar cleaning hatchet job for Osei Tutu who had been interdicted slapping an Army Officer, Warrant Officer WOI Mashud Salia.

Because of his closeness to the Jubilee House, Osei Tutu was reportedly asked to go cool off at a luxurious location for a few months, after which he was promoted by moving him from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to the National Security Secretariat to head the signals department.
