The Juaboso District Assembly in the Western North Region, like other Assemblies in the country, has been without a Chief Executive Officer more than six months into the second term of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) administration.
We have reliably gathered that Nine persons have filed to contest the vacant position. Among them is Kwabena Agyei, the immediate – past Presiding Member (PM) of the Assembly.
According to our sources, when it comes to the choice of persons for such positions, a number of considerations come to play. Among such are loyalty, good standing, long and devoted service to the party.
Investigations conducted by ghananewsonline.com.gh have it that when it comes to the aforementioned attributes Kwabena Agyei stands tall.
Kwabena Agyei is said to have been with the NPP since 1993, when, even, mentioning of the Party’s name was an abomination in that predominately National Democratic Council (NDC) Constituency. Defying all odds, Kwabena, as he is affectionately called, did not only dare join the party but also dared to bring the NPP there becoming its financier. A situation which did not only cost him financially but also socially as he was treated as an outcast among family members and friends for daring not only to join, but also to bring that abominable thing to Juaboso.

However, sticking to his guns, Kwabena became Assembly man for two (2) terms running, and rose to the position of presiding member of Assembly for two consecutive terms and also becoming Constituency Chairman for the Party for two terms running. All these feats were obtained by Kwabena by dint of hard work, dedication and commitment, our investigations have revealed.
Our investigations revealed further that having worked in the Assembly that long (since 1993), and haven risen through the ranks – Assembly man, Presiding Member and Constituency Chairman, “Kwabena is fit to wear the DCE crown for Juaboso,” remarked one Party Member, who elatedly buttressed his stands with Bob Marley song “let them wear it, whom the cup fit”.
What is more, Kwabena does not only have an insight in the Assembly, but also has worked assiduously in all his endeavours at the Assembly. As a result, he became not only the right hand man, but also a confidant and close ally and associate to the out – gone hardworking DCE Martha Kwayie Manu, we gathered.
According to his teaming ardent followers, by passing Kwabena in the choice of DCE for Juaboso this time round, will not only be a faux pas, but also a mistake that will create a bigger vacuum already created by the out-gone affable DCE Martha Kwayie Manu, who has been elevated to the high office of Deputy Chief Executive for Forestry Commission. Kwabena’s admires also argue that being an indigene of the place, he has not only the people at heart but also their development through the Assembly at heart as well.
