Kessben Fm Morning Show Host Attacked By LGBTQ+ Activists, Private Car Vandalised

Morning show host Kumasi-based Kessben Fm, Kwabena Akuoko Kwarteng is receiving threats from LGBTQ+ activists.

He claims the gate of his private vehicle was vandalized few days ago after a verbal banter erupted between him and some highly peeved funs of LGBTQ+ at the time he was purchasing “awaakye” at Mfante New Town of the Subin constituency.

Till date, he has being receiving threatful phone calls and text messages from unknown numbers.

Akuoko Kwarteng told the media at a press briefing on Monday, 12th February, 2024, that the whole issue started after he expressed his opinion on parliament’s discussion of the practice of LGBTQ+.

Commenting on his usual morning show program at Kessben Fm, he said that, discussions on wether or not to legitimize the practice of the act in Ghana is immaterial, since it does in any way contribute to the development of the country.

He said on air that the instead on discussion issues on LGBTQ+ , they (Members of Parliament) should focus on matters related to nation building.

“LGBTQ+ is not important because the practice is the choice of persons involved in the act. It is their life and their choice”, he told the press.

“Few days after sharing my opinion, a person I don’t even know after spotting me at the food joint advanced viciously towards me, talking on top of his voice saying ” so you Akuoko Kwarteng, you are the one who said on the air waves that it is not necessary for parliamentarians to waste their time on practitioners of LGBTQ+”.

Owing to the sporadic threats , he said he reported the matter to ridge police station.

“I have abandoned my usual place of residence to a different location”, he lamented.
