Hundreds of supporters and sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are expected to participate in what has been dubbed as ‘a mammoth health walk’ slated for June 4, 2022.

The highly advertised street walk is expected to attract non-affiliated party members as well as a sizeable number of supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to call on the central government to alleviate the growing economic hardship in the country by speeding up the promised ‘One-District One-Factory’; Ketu South Cassava Processing Factory located at Gbedzekorpe-Akame to create jobs for the local folks.

Ketu South is noted for their massive participation in public political events due to its population which serves as home base of the largest opposition political party in the country – the NDC.

The Communication Officer for the Aflao Urban Zonal, Alexander Aluwoe, who doubles as the media liaison officer for the programme, told Edzorna Francis Mensah in an interview that, opportunity will be given to some personalities from the Region and the National to address the participants just after the walk on selected topics including what June 4 stands for, in line with probity and accountability, championed by former late President Jerry John Rawlings.

Mr Aluwoe noted that, the party’s return to constitutional rule in 1992 is 30 years and as such the five zones in the Constituency see the need to reminisce themselves with the journey so far.

The walk will start from the main entrance of Three Town Senior High School at Hedranawo and end at Aflao Low-cost Beach where selected speakers will address the gathering on specific topics.
