Komenda sugar factory will bounce back in April – Akufo-Addo assures

President Akufo-Addo has assured Ghanaians that the Komenda Sugar Factory will be back on its feet in April for full operations to begin.

The $35 million factory which was expected to employ thousands of people halted operations not long after it was inaugurated by then-President John Mahama in May 2016.

After years of dormancy, President Akufo-Addo has announced that ongoing civil works at the factory site should be completed by the end of March, paving the way for its full operationalization.

“On the sugar factory, some civil works are being done there and hopefully by the end of March, it will be completed. The Indians are in and doing some work and so by April, production would have begun at the sugar factory,” he assured members of the Komenda Traditional Council who paid a courtesy call on him at the Jubilee House.
