Kumasi Accident: One died on Farmers’ Day

It took nearly two hours for firefighters to recover the body of the male adult trapped in the mangled vehicle.

At least one person is reported dead after a head-on collision involving a fuel tanker and a pick up vehicle on the Kaase-Ahodwo road in Kumasi, Friday.

Eyewitnesses said the tanker driver lost control while exiting the BOST junction road and suddenly crashing into the vehicle which was using the same stretch in the opposite direction.

Emergency services were deployed to the scene moments later but their work was disrupted by a large crowd.

Police officers  had to fire warning shots to disperse them while rescue efforts continued.

It took nearly two hours for firefighters to recover the body of the male adult trapped in the mangled vehicle.

He was confirmed dead at the scene.

His body has been sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for preservation and identification. Investigations have begun.
