Kumasi: Body of NADMO officer pulled out of floodwater

This incident brings to five the number of victims said to have died following torrential rains which started last Wednesday (June 21).

The body of a man in his forties was discovered in floodwater at Duase after heavy rains hit parts of the Ashanti Regional capital Friday night.

The victim Sulemana Ahmed with the National Disaster Management Organization, NADMO, is said to have ignored all warnings to use a flooded stretch of the Kenyase road but got swept away in the process.

Assemblyman for Duase Prince Osei said some residents found the deceased on Saturday morning who informed local police officers for immediate action. The man was confirmed dead at the scene.

His body has been deposited at the morgue.
