Madugu’s Open letter to Julian Mawuse Cobbinah (Ascobic) at Easter
The Julian of Legon fame, KNUST fame, GIMPA and every other place that he might have left his impact in days of his selfless service. We are proud of you, and the next generation of people you continue to impact are equally proud of your humbleness.
Everyone who knows me, knows that, I left GIJ many years ago, which of course meant that, I exited student politics or however you may want to describe that whole exercise.
But, I have come to realize in my post-students activism days that, you don’t ever leave, those who pretend to leave are the ones who have become unconcerned because they have moved to a different state of life and consciously or unconsciously become unwelcome about discussions that bothers on where they came from.
Because really, if you are bothered to be mindful, you will figure out that, at all times, you get pulled back into the environment and you will be compelled to help other persons who might have seen you as an inspiration or just looking for support in a way, no matter how you have tried to distance yourself.
Immediately after the NUGS congress, a video emerged of one of our beloved, most selfless humans I have met, lived with, and respected without limits, Julian Mawuse Yaw Cobbinah, who was being overly disrespectful by some elements, particularly within the NPP social media activist group for his refusal to leave the students front, in fact they described him as someone who has become a “perpetual student”, Yeh, that’s how low they went.
Today is Easter, I decided to be decorum, at least in recognition of the disposition for the death and resurrection of Christ, Julian himself is a very deep loving man of things of Christ. Otherwises, I will be permitted to call such spineless, character-less, selfish and arrogant birdbrains out for who they are.
Forgive me oh Christ for the last, for this paragraph, but it’s important to set the records straight on some of the issues, even you Christ had a cause to whip the nonsense out of some demented fellows who turned your father’s house into a gambling and money laundering center.
I’m yet, to see any living young person, who lived his life in service of others like the popular Ascobic, I mean Julian, his intellectually sophisticated, witty, beautifully spirited sense of purpose towards the cause of everyone, sometimes leaves me to wonder what kind of human he is, but at every given opportunity when you remind him about his scars, he tells you that, “there’s no important argument than an argument of an example and to do that you must be willing to sacrifice for it”.

This is just to say Happy Easter Mawuse. The reward of the General is in the blood of the soldiers.
