How Mahama started solving the tidal wave havoc in Volta Region

H.E John Mahama constructed the sea defense project at Atorkor Agbledomie under the then Keta municipality. The three-phase project was executed to stop the persistent degradation of the coastal stretch in the Anloga District, owing to tidal waves.

The three-phase project was executed to stop the persistent degradation of the coastal stretch in the Anloga District, owing to tidal waves.

This project was executed at the cost of $54 million, with a road constructed from Atorkor through Dzita to Anyanui by Amandi construction.

To also stop the destruction of the tidal waves along the Keta Blekusi Agavedzi and Salakope enclave, H.E John Mahama begun the construction of sea defense to stop the tidal waves along this stretch. The first phase was completed however the project came to a standstill from 2017 to date when H.E Nana Addo became the president.

Had this project been completed, the people of Salakope, Blekusu, Agavedzi etc would not have being wailing because of the destruction caused by the tidal waves in
