Mahama’s ’24-hour economy’ policy will not allow us sleep with our wives at night – U/E Regional Minister
“When we work on our farms and we are tired in the night, we have to sleep with our wives ooo! We have to be with our wives.”
The Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu has voiced his strong opposition to the proposed 24-hour economy advocated by former President John Dramani Mahama. According to him, such a policy could negatively impact marital relationships by depriving men of essential nighttime activities with their spouses.
In a video that has since gone viral, he argued that the implementation of a 24-hour economy would leave men exhausted from their daytime work and prevent them from spending quality time with their wives at night. He emphasized the importance of the nighttime hours for rest and intimate moments between couples.
The minister suggested that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia shares his concerns, indicating that Bawumia is opposed to Mahama’s 24-hour economy due to its potential implications on personal and family life.

“In the night you want us to go and be farming for people to steal our wives,” he quizzed.
“People, we have to be careful with this 24-hour economy thing,” he warned.
