Melcom hands over Clinic, Office Block to Ningo-Prampram Assembly

Melcom Group of Companies has donated a clinic and an administrative office block to the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly in the Greater Accra Region to help improve health care delivery services as well as aid the development of the District.

The Health Care Centre includes a Theatre Room, Sterilization Room, Changing Room, Out Patients Department, and Scan Office. The rest are Family Planning Department, Laboratory, Physician Room, Lobby Room, Pharmacy, Delivery Room, and Nursing Room among others.
The Clinic and the Office block are legally connected with running water both provided with Septic Tanks for proper hygienic storage and disposal of waste as well as Electricity.

The Director of Communications at the Melcom Group of Companies, Godwin Avenorgbo, during the handing over ceremony noted that the donation was done in conformity with the group’s chosen pillars for Customer Service Initiatives, which are Education and Health.
“Today, Melcom Care takes another giant leap into the future by living the Melcom Good Corporate Citizenship Dream of impacting lives positively; and we do this in conformity with our chosen pillars for Customer Service Initiatives – Education and Health,” he stated.

“As a group of companies engaged in the provision of services to satisfy needs, we recognize that human resource safety, security and convenience have become areas of prioritization for the outreach projects that we undertake. It is in line with this desire for the public good that Melcom is motivated to undertake the construction of an office block and a health centre for the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly for the benefit of residents in this densely populated area of the Greater Accra Region,” he added.

It was his hope that the collaboration between his outfit and the District Assembly would not become a nine day wonder but a continuing relationship between the public and private sector of the country.

He said Melcom is ready to engage communities, chiefs and local government administrative machinery of all areas in Ghana to collaborate to expand their services.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly, Al-Latif Tetteh, in words expressed thanks to the Melcom Group of Companies for their kind gesture.

He used the occasion to plea with Melcom to consider the provision of furniture for the Area Council offices adding that it will serve as a form of advertisement for the Melcom brand.

Al-Latif Tetteh advised the District Health Directorates to cultivate a good maintenance culture to ensure cleanliness and longevity of the facility.
