Mukarama Abdulai’s goal secures gold for Black Princesses

The game headed to extra time and Mukarama Abdulai scored to give the Black Princesses the bragging right as the African U-20 Women football champions under the leadership of Yussif Basigi.

Mukarama Abdulai’s 9th minute extra time goal secures the Ghana U-20 women’s team, the Black Princesses, a gold medal in the African Games 2023 in Accra, Ghana against the Super Falconets of Nigeria.

The game which took off at the Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday, March 21 at 8:00 pm placed Nigeria in a comfortable lead in the 23rd minute when Ghana’s goalkeeper Afi Amenyeku howled a ball in the penalty box giving Edeh Njideka of Nigeria the chance to score.

It was a tough game during the first half but the Princesses came back tougher in the second half where Tracey Twum in the 78th minute, scored to equalize the goal till the full 90-minute game ended.

The game headed to extra time and Mukarama Abdulai scored to give the Black Princesses the bragging right as the African U-20 Women football champions under the leadership of Yussif Basigi.

In 2015, Coach Yussif Basigi led the women’s team to win a gold medal in the African Games, however, Ghana holds second gold medal in African game event.
