In a statement released on Monday, the minister of information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, emphasized that Mrs. Kufuor had led a life marked by kindness, steadfast commitment, and selfless service to the people of Ghana.

In honour of former First Lady Mrs. Theresa Kufuor, who passed away on October 1, 2023, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has ordered that all national flags fly at half-staff from Monday, October 2, 2023, to Sunday, October 8, 2023.

In a statement released on Monday, the minister of information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, emphasized that Mrs. Kufuor had led a life marked by kindness, steadfast commitment, and selfless service to the people of Ghana.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to President J.A. Kufuor and the family as we collectively mourn the loss of a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has also commiserated with the former first family.

In a statement, Dr. Bawumia said “Samira and I are deeply pained by the death of a woman we all considered a major light in our personal and national lives”.

“I extend my condolences to President Kufuor, his immediate family, and the nation at large.”
