NPP Chairman declares Bawumia as the worst ever Vice President in Ghana’s History
"Bawumia becoming the party’s flagbearer would likely lead the NPP into opposition,” he said, arguing further that the party should endeavour to stop such move else the party would go to opposition.
A former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who is also the Campaign Manager for Team Ken in the Ashanti Region, Yaw Amankwa, has slammed Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as the worst ever Vice-President in the political history of Ghana.
In his view, the economic challenges and untold hardships the country is experiencing is rare under the supervision of the economic management team, headed by the vice President.
He noted that, Dr Bawumia has woefully failed on all his fat Campaign promises of turning the fortunes of the country’s economy for the betterment of all.
He said the current inflation rate, Cedi to dollar rate, high taxes among other areas which Dr Bawumia has failed to manage is enough evidence that he has disappointed Ghanaians.
In an interview on M’abatoɔ evening political show on Akoma FM with William Evans-Nkum and JB, Yaw Amankwa revealed that it will be very difficult for the NPP to win the 2024 general elections with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the party’s presidential candidate.
He added that the rank and file of the party is fully aware that breaking the 8 is impossible with the candidature of Dr Bawumia.
Mr Amankwa expressed worry at the party’s internal wrangling which according to him has given room for violence and infighting within the Party.
He bemoaned the rate of violence, intimidation and infighting that characterized the NPP’s internal party elections, adding that, some elements within the NPP have hijacked the party and want to scheme the presidential slot in favour of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
He expressed dissatisfaction at the current crop of leaders of the party and the level of indiscipline, adding that it is not in line with the party’s principles.
He emphasized that Kennedy Agyapong is the only candidate who can break the 8 year jinx for the NPP come 2024. He said Kennedy Agyapong has over the years shown his commitment to transform the economy, reduce youth unemployment and bring back lost hope to the citizenry through his humanitarian services.
“Bawumia becoming the party’s flagbearer would likely lead the NPP into opposition,” he said, arguing further that the party should endeavour to stop such move else the party would go to opposition.
He said, through determination and hardwork he will resist any attempts that might propel the NPP into perpetual opposition.
