NPP Parl. Primaries: Regional Director of Geology file to Contest Jaman North

Eastern Regional Director of Geology, Daniel Fordjour Agyemang, has filed his nomination forms as an aspirant in the Parliamentary Candidate contest of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Jaman North Constituency ahead of the 2020 general elections in the Bono Region. This follows the party’s opening nomination for prospective aspirants ahead of the April 25 Primaries.

In an interview with Ghananewsonline.com.gh after presenting his nomination forms and a bankers draft of Ghc50, 000 to the Women Representative on the Vetting Committee, Sadia Abu, at the party office in Sampa, he disclosed that his decision to Contest in the pending primaries is without malice but enable him contribute his quota towards developing the Jaman North.

He stressed that the enthusiasm of the NPP in Jaman North after they snatched the seat from the NDC has gone down as most supporters feel neglected because they feel sidelined after the 2016 victory.

“Election 2020 is crucial for us as NPP, hence required a winnerable candidate like myself who is poised to approach and re-unite disgruntled teeming supporters of our great party in the Constituency, mobilising for intensified electioneering campaign not only to retain our seat but to increase votes to help retain Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo government,” he stated.

Daniel Fordjour Agyemang who was the first candidate to file his nomination called on delegates of Jaman North to elect someone who understands their plight and ready to go all out to prioritize their issues. He says he has the qualities to lead them to transform the living conditions of the Constituent.

The 39 year old Geologist is expected to battle in the April 25 primaries with the incubent member of Parliament and Deputy Bono Regional Minister, Stevens Siaka, and two others. He advised his colleagues to conduct healthy political campaign desisting from statement that can cause apathy after the Primaries.

“This election is just a friendly match which we are engaging ourselves in, I don’t think this Primaries should be seen as Mike Tyson and Hollyfield fight in a heavyweight battle. Let’s see ourselves as one family fighting to achieve a common goal,” he stated.

Receiving the forms, Sadia Abu, called all aspirants to put the party first in all their endeavors ahead of the primaries stating that the party stands tall over every individual, so they should be causious in their pronouncements and should campaign with love and harmony.

“We will support anyone who wins the Primaries to continue with the Developmental agenda of the New Patriotic Party,” she added.
