NPP Parliamentary Primaries: Don’t camp any delegate – Frimpong Kodua

In a stern message to parliamentary aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong has emphasized the party’s commitment to free and fair elections by forbidding the camping of delegates during the upcoming parliamentary primaries on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
The party aims to ensure that every member feels free to cast their votes without any undue influence.
Addressing journalists in Kumasi, Kodua Frimpong highlighted the party’s rules and regulations designed to maintain the integrity of the electoral process.
He explicitly stated, “No one should camp delegates at any place,” underlining the party’s dedication to creating an unbiased environment.
Adding another layer to the warnings, the General Secretary cautioned delegates against capturing photos or videos of their votes, with a strong threat of prosecution if caught. The NPP is taking a firm stance to maintain the confidentiality and security of the voting process.
With 326 parliamentary aspirants cleared for the primaries, the NPP is gearing up for a crucial electoral event. Out of the 373 initially filed aspirants, 29 are running unopposed, while 11 faced disqualification.
The party is set to navigate a competitive internal election to select its parliamentary candidates in constituencies with sitting Members of Parliament (MPs).
