NPP Primaries: Adwoa Asiedu floors Okraku Mantey, Aryeh Paye in Ayensuano

She garnered 410 votes, beating Mark Okraku Mantey a Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture.

A 40 year-old businesswoman Ida Adwoa Asiedu has won the Ayensuano parliamentary slot for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after a second attempt at the party’s internal election.

She garnered 410 votes, beating Mark Okraku Mantey a Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture.

Mantey polled 136 votes while former MP Samuel Ayeh Paye secured 105 votes.

The election held at Asuboi in the Eastern Region.

In her victory speech Miss Ida Asiedu thanked delegates and promised to work hard to recapture the seat from the NDC.
