Offinso North: Aspiring MP donates relief items to Constituents

Adu Boahen (RAB) has bailed out a distressed and neglected NPP coordinator by paying his outstanding light bills amounting two thousand, five hundred Ghana cedis.

The philanthropic activities of an aspiring Member of Parliament for the Offinso North constituency in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Rockson Adu Boahen has brought great reliefs to a good number of people in that constituency.

Ghananewsonline.com.gh has gathered that these philanthropic activities include alms giving, personal donations, payment of school fees and people’s medical bills, employment, and even construction of roads.

Our information has it further that these activities of his has not only endeared him to the hearts of many people in the constituency but he is also making inroads there as the people root for him in his quest to take that seat.

This situation, we have gathered, has sent other potential contestants in the race running helter-skelter to undo him in this activities.

Numerous donations and payments

Adu Boahen (RAB) has bailed out a distressed and neglected NPP coordinator by paying his outstanding light bills amounting two thousand, five hundred Ghana cedis.

Mr. Francis Asiedu alias Apass, the coordinator who has been with the party since 1992 had had his electricity supply to his house disconnected for over five years with party officials including the DCE and MP all looking on my haplessly.

Doing the payments at Afrancho last Thursday, June 23, 2023, Apass, almost shedding tears stated that he is not a hopeless person.

According to him, he used his light for extension to over 14 surrounding houses during the 2016 elections to solicit votes for the NPP hence the accumulation of his bills to that extent leading to the subsequent disconnection.

Apass indicated that he informed party executives including the MP and the DCE but they all turned death ears to his predicament.

Therefore, together with his family, Apass thanked and prayed fervently for Honorable Adu Boahen for his kind gesture. He maintained that having brought him out of darkness into light, it was his prayer that the Almighty God also shines his face upon Honorable Adu Boahen in all his ways especially his quest for the Offinso North constituency seat.

Payment of School fees

According to his personal assistant (PA) Gideon Frimpong, aka Otompoyoyo between May 5, and June 15, the aspiring MP hopeful has paid the school fees for over twenty four (24) University students and also Ten thousand Ghana cedis for two females and two male second cycle students. In the same vein, he has issued a cheque for Eighteen thousand Ghana cedis as payment of school fees for other second cycle students in the constituency. Also he has paid nine thousand Ghana cedis by way of hospital bills for some constituents. Earlier, Hon. Adu Boahen had bailed out one Theresa Kusi by paying five thousand Ghana cedis by enabling her attend the University of Ghana after the Assembly had woefully disappointed her.

Donations

Rockson Adu Boahen is also on record to have provided a six unit class room block for the people of Mfante, 50 bags of cement to the old students Association of Nkenkaansu Senior High School (NKESS) plus Ten thousand Ghana cedis. He has also shared 40 mobile phones to needy persons who requested them. Also he has shared 15 boxes of weedicides and 15 spraying machines to needy farmers. Besides, he has provided three boreholes for three communities alongside one for the people of Nyamebekyere while providing the people of Nasanoa zone with a CHIP compound.

Rehabilitation of Seseko Roads

The people of Seseko have also benefited from Hon. Adu Boahen’s largess as they have had their impassable roads rehabilitated at a cost of Four Thousand, Five Hundred Ghana cedis by way of sand and gravels.

Also the Assemblyman for the area, Senior Ernest as he is affectionately called, had earlier benefited from Hon. Adu Boahen’s benevolence when he provided him with 50 bags of cement for the rehabilitation of his school. This was after the Assembly had failed to come to his aid after persistent appeals.
