Offinso North: Aspiring MP Wins the Hearts of NPP Executives

Offinso North: Aspiring MP Wins the Hearts of NPP Executives
Rockson Adu Boahen, aspiring Member of Parliament (MP) for the Offinso North constituency in the Ashanti Region has warmed up himself into the hearts of the polling station executives in that area.
“Honourable, we are indeed satisfied with your speech, campaign message and your mode of campaign. No insinuations, no insults. Only your mission and vision you announce. If that is how you are going to campaign then, you will go places, keep it up.”
These were the commendations given to the aspiring MP wherever he went to announce his intentions to contest the seat for that constituency, over the weekend.
His trek to him to places like Nyamebekyere 1&2, Bobra, Sarfokro, Dwenwoho, Nsenoa Zone, Miawani, Afrandho, Akomadam and many more, wherever he visited the message was the same.
I Came To Burry Ceaser
Taking his turn to address the officials, Rockson Adu Boahen, RAB as his campaign team refers notified the people of his mission and vision for the area.
“I am not here to condemn, insinuate or insult anybody! Mine is to tell you my mission and vision for the constituency,” he would tell them as they listened to him with rapt attention and enthusiasm.
He maintained that he was moved by the plight of the constituency and people there, “I am here to tell the people what I can do for the people. Like 440 baton race, I should like to take off from where our predecessors have reached so as to win the ultimate gold for the constituency and to turn it round for the desired glory. I know where I am coming from, and what I can do for the people.
Welfare, Health, Education, Job –Seeking Office
Rockson Adu Boahen told the delegates that he will endeavor to create a welfare fund for the people, from where they could seek financial assistance in times of need. While regretting that the constituency has no office, Adu Boahen assured the people of an office with job seeking departments to take care of the employment needs of the people especially the youth.
Touching on health, Rockson Adu Boahen noted with sorrow how a big constituency like Offinso North, should be devoid of health facilities as CHIP Compound to cater for the health needs of the people, to the extent that patients, especially pregnant women should be carried on shoulders and heads of men, over long distances for medical attention and that in most cases, some loose their lives. Talking about schools was an abomination in that deprived, neglected constituency, which lacked in every necessary and basic social amenity.
“Good Roads”
It came to light that roads in the constituency, especially those in places as Nsanoa Zone, Nyamebekyere 1&2, Bobra, Miawani, Sarfokrom, and many more others, were simply nothing to write home about! In such places, motor bikes are their main means of transport. On these roads it takes even Cross Country 4X4 vehicles crawling for hours to move from one place to another.
We Won’t Vote Again
With frustration, emanating, from neglect, palpably written on their faces, the frustrated people declared that they will refrain from voting hence forth. “We have been cheated and taken for donkey’s side for far too long! We won’t vote again. Look at our roads! No water, no electricity, though poles have been erected here years back! What do you take us for! They asked in wonderment. We say, we won’t vote again!!! They yelled.
Living by Providence
It also came to light that at places as Nymebekyere (God will provide), people there are living by mere providence of God as the name of their town suggested. This providence living was not peculiar to only the people of Nyamebekyere, but also other places as Miawani, Bobra, Dwenewoho, and many others
Industrious Lot
Their predicaments notwithstanding, the people are an industrious lot who abound in the production of cash and food crops such as Cashew, in which they (Nyamebekyere people) are reported to be number one in the whole of the Ashanti region. Also they produce yam, cocoyam, maize, groundnuts, beans, and many more. However, due to the good nature of their roads, transporting them to the marketing remains burdensome.
