Polls close in NPP flagbearer election, counting underway

One of the front runners, Kennedy Agyapong said he was ready to support whoever would emerge winner of the poll.

Polls have closed in the flagbearer contest of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and counting has started. 

Voting ended at 2 PM on Saturday. Over 200,000 delegates voted in the exercise.

The contestants were; Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto and former MP for Mampong Francis Addai-Nimoh.

One of the front runners, Kennedy Agyapong said he was ready to support whoever would emerge winner of the poll.

He made this known shortly after casting his ballot at the Pentecost Worship Center at Assin Fosu.
