Prophet Odumeje Indaboski has predicted doom for Nigerian Banks over the ongoing Naira scarcity in Nigeria.

Newsone reports that Prophet Odumeje whose real name is Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, a controversial Anambra-based prophet, who is the Spiritual Director of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministry World Miracle Center, alias Land of Freedom, has foretold danger for Nigeran banks over the lingering naira scarcity across the country.

This online news platform understands that Nigerians have been having difficulties accessing the new Naira notes since the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) replaced them with the old naira notes.

Recently, the CBN extended the deadline for the old naira notes from January 31, 2023, to February 10, 2023.

Newsone Nigeria reports that Godwin Emefiele, the CBN Governor said last Sunday that as a result of measures put in place to ease the scarcity, President Muhammadu Buhari had given approval for the extension of the deadline.

He had said: “Based on the foregoing, we have sought and obtained Mr. President’s approval for the following: a 10-day extension of the deadline from January 31, 2023, to February 10, 2023; to allow for the collection of more old notes legitimately held by  Nigerians and achieve more success in cash swap in our rural communities after which all old notes outside the CBN loses their Legal Tender Status. Our CBN staff currently on mass mobilization and monitoring together with officials of the EFCC and ICPC will work together to achieve these objectives.

“A 7-day grace period, beginning on February 10 to February 17, 2023, in compliance with Sections 20(3) and 22 of the CBN Act, allowing Nigerians to deposit their old notes at the CBN after the February deadline when the  old currency would have lost its Legal Tender status.”

However, despite the extension, Nigerians have been struggling to access the new Naira notes, thereby causing undue hardship nationwide.

Displeased with the ongoing struggles for the new Naira notes by Nigerians, Prophet Odumeje Indaboski in a video published on his Instagram page on Sunday afternoon, February 5, 2023, warned that the masses might revolt and burn down banks before Tuesday if the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari refuses to release people’s money.

Prophet Odumeje Indaboski further condemned the new trend of using the naira to buy naira across the country.
