Realization of Sustainable Peace in Western Africa: Training Peace Facilitator
HWPL Africa team plans to establish a foundation for implementing sustainable peace initiatives by training LP facilitators. These facilitators will lead the realization of peace with planning and executing peace activities in local communities.
Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), a South Korea-based international organization conducting peace activities for world peace and cessation of war (associated with the UN DGC and ECOSOC), held ‘HWPL Western Africa Peace Development Forum; 2024 Kick-off Meeting’ on Jan 27th. HWPL Africa team showed the results of Western Africa Peace Initiatives from 2021 to 2023 during the meetingwith a total of 119 people from 110 organizations participating.
HWPL Africa team has discussed how to achieve peace by holding a total of 12 times of HWPL Western Africa Peace Development Forum with leaders from various sectors of human rights organizations, international law, media, educational institutions, and youth groups. As internal conflicts arising from various ethnic and religious disputes in western Africa, the representatives of Western Africa agreed on the potential of peace education to spread peace in communities during the meeting and HWPL Peace Educator Empowerment Training was held to implement actual peace education. As a result, through the training, 101 sessions in 2021 and 112 sessions in 2022 were implemented in Ghana and Nigeria.
“Legislate Peace” (LP) Campaign is aiming at promoting and urging support for ‘Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW)’. It seeks to restore the spirit that served as the basis for the establishment of the United Nations and embodying the principles and measures for preventing and resolving conflicts and sustaining a peaceful global society.

Clement Iorver Iornongu, the Executive Director of International Centre for Peace Charities and Human Development (INTERCEP) said, “Since participating in HWPL’s peace initiatives from 2020, I have been able to deepen my understanding of the value of peace work. In particular, the peace vision of HWPL is an excellent vision that can build a culture of peace fitting for not only children but also adults. Therefore, I will continue to support the realization of HWPL’s vision, and will strenuously advocate for the adoption of the DPCW to the UN, so that it can be considered by the international community.”
Emeka Emmanuel Oguzie, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria said, “When I cooperated with HWPL, I was impressed and motivated by the thousands of volunteers who were doing the work of peace. Their passion inspired me and HWPL and all of us should work together to ensure peace all over the world.”
HWPL is planning to raise the awareness of peace through cooperation with both governments and non-governmental organizations, aiming to expand sustainable peace initiatives in every local community.
