A new report by Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) and Publish What You Pay Zambia has called for a revamp of Zambia’s mining tax regime if the country is to reap the benefits of the global energy sector’s shift from fossil-based systems of energy production and consumption to renewable energy sources.

The report, which will be launched on Thursday, April 27, 2023, notes that Zambia stands to benefit from the energy transition due to her endowment with abundant natural resources, particularly metals that are critical to the transition.
