Special Prosecutor stirs Fear and Panic

...Media Attacks Against Him to Run

After calling on the Special Prosecutor (SP) to roll up his sleeves and swing into action, certain top personalities who were behind the calls are now living in total fear and panic, because of the proactive attitude of Mr. Kissi Agyebeng in investigating corruption-related issues.

The reason for the fear and panic is that those personalities are somehow connected to some of the cases that the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) was looking into.

A grimy media assault has been plotted against the SP, all in the name of making his office to look bad in the eyes of right thinking people.

As a matter of fact, there have been meetings on how the whole agenda will be rolled out in the coming days, all because the SP will drag some powerful personalities into his investigations.

On February 14, this year, the OSP said, in line with its determination to deal with corruption in the country, 45 cases are currently under investigation.

“The OSP will announce, in the next few weeks, its conclusion(s) and further action in the following cases: LaBianca Company Limited in respect of alleged corruption and corruption-related offences in the context of evasion and valuation of duties on frozen and processed food products imported into Ghana between 2017 and 2021 involving LaBianca Company Limited and some high-ranking officials of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority.

Adjenim Boateng_Adjei in respect of alleged corruption and corruption-related offences in the context of public procurement and abuse of office involving a former Chief Executive of the Public Procurement Authority.

Alexander Kwabena Sarfo-Kantanka, in respect of corruption and corruption-related offences in the context of a public election, particularly corruption and intimidation in respect of a public election regarding the confirmation or otherwise of the nominee for the office of Chief Executive of the Juaben Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region,” the statement disclosed.

The OSP was established in 2018 by President Akufo-Addo, as part of measures by the government to deal with corruption in the country.

According to the Bill, which outlines the objectives of the SP, it will investigate and prosecute all matters of corruption referred to it.

The calm but assertive posture of the OSP is what creating the fear and panic among the top personalities who have engaged hatchet men for the dirty agenda against that office.

Since coming to office, the SP has not been seen to be talking too much like his predecessor, making him unassuming and action oriented.
