Speeding Car Kills Man

A 28 YEAR old man has died after he was knocked down by a speeding Mazda Demio Taxi cab with registration number AS 1815-18.
The deceased, who has been identified as Abdul Mummin, became unconscious when he was hit by the vehicle, which was moving at top speed.
The victim was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi for medical attention but he gave up the ghost shortly upon arrival.
The lifeless body has since been deposited in the mortuary at KATH for preservation and post mortem as police investigations are still underway.
A police sit-rep said the unfortunate incident happened around 2am on November 16, 2023 when the now-deceased man was crossing the road.
According to the police, one Justice Asare, who is 54 years old, was in charge of the taxi cab, which was from Afful Nkwanta and heading to Anloga Junction.
“He knocked down a male adult pedestrian, Abdul Mummin, aged about 28 years, in the middle of the road”, part of the police document disclosed.
It added that, “the pedestrian sustained serious injuries, fell unconscious and was rushed to KATH where he died shortly whilst undergoing treatment”.
The report indicated that the accident vehicle got damaged after hitting the man, saying, “suspect driver detained”.
