The 10 most-watched seasons of Netflix shows, based on hours viewed

The data, which includes over 18,000 titles, includes the number of hours each was viewed in a six month time period, whether or not it was available to stream globally, and when it premiered

In a December press release, the platform announced that it would publish biannual engagement reports on what viewers watched on Netflix. The first “What We Watched: A Netflix Engagement Report” tracked title performance from January to June 2023.

The data, which includes over 18,000 titles, includes the number of hours each was viewed in a six month time period, whether or not it was available to stream globally, and when it premiered. According to Netflix, the titles in the report reflect 99% of all viewing on the platform, and total close to 100 billion hours of watch time. Netflix’s data also breaks out titles by their individual seasons — so some, like “Ginny & Georgia,” appear in the data multiple times. We’ve reflected that distinction below as well.
