Togbe Afede XIV turn down Ghc365K Ex-gratia

The rejection was revealed by US-based Ghanaian journalist, Kevin Taylor in a broadcast on his Loud Silence media’s hit podcast, “With All Due Respect.”

The Agbogbomefia of Asogli in the Volta Region, Togbe Afede XIV, has reportedly turned down an amount of Ghc365, 000 that the Akufo-Addo government paid to him as ex-gratia for serving as a member of the council of state for four years.

The rejection was revealed by US-based Ghanaian journalist, Kevin Taylor in a broadcast on his Loud Silence media’s hit podcast, “With All Due Respect.”

Mr. Taylor has since provided a copy of a Bank of Ghana cheque deposit slip as evidence.

The cheque is dated 4 – 03 -2022 and bears the number “0019107.”

The respected Togbe is said to have turned the money down because he felt it was unconscionable to receive it at a time that the economy is downhill and the average Ghanaian is going through serious hardships.

The Akufo-Addo government has been splurging money in the wake of warnings that the economy may totter into a collapse.
