Vim Lady Afia Pokua celebrates Abednego Akwasi Asante Asiedu

When I first put this gentleman on air as parliamentary reporter, the feedback was that he was not eloquent and true he has issues.

Let me share my PRIDE in the story of this young man who used to sleep in the office. The man A4 from Kwahu (Odweanoma Mountains)
I’m proud of him because he did what most young people today are unwilling to do.

Around the time I noticed that he was sleeping in the office due to transportation cost, he would run errands for people, climb and descend the stairs for over 30 times in a day yet never complain but he was not PAID A DIME

I made arrangement not only to conceal his sleeping in the office from my bosses but to make sure he was safe. He was later involved in a fatal accident while returning from an assignment but could not benefit from any insurance because he did not have any legal status in the company since he was not a full staff.
I had to step up and get him treatment from 37Military Hospital to Aponkye clinic until he healed. He still came back to work. Can you imagine Still he was not demoralized. I later moved him into my house.

Still with no allowance, he will overwork without complaining.even join my producer Kono Fojour and I on the night production till 11pm.

Despite dropping out of school, he was determined to get education. When he got admission at AUCC as a matured student I knew I had to step up to make sure he finishes school. He managed to combine school and work and yet he executed his newsroom duties without question and still become a student leader on campus.

When I first put this gentleman on air as parliamentary reporter, the feedback was that he was not eloquent and true he has issues.

I will take my frustrations to him in a long list and have him recite one-on-one intros to his live reports.
Soon the feedback moved from NEGATIVE to “Afia your boy is good” By this time he was not only a PAID staff but vital team member

He used to same zeal to apply and gain admission to Norwegian NLA University College and just graduated with his masters. He married his intelligent wife, Elsie with whom he has two children.
There is no limit to my joy seeing that not only did God use me as a vessel to support his dream but that he did 80% of the work from sleeping in the mosquito infested office, running errands, spending long nights in the office to do production etc. Many see him today but forget that he sowed the seed in himself years ego.

Many young people want to succeed but are not ready to neither sacrifice nor prepare themselves for future opportunities.
