Within a mere 8-meter radius of the school, the clandestine operations of galamseyers have taken root, posing a grave risk to the safety of both teachers and learners alike.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, teachers voiced their concerns over the proliferation of gaping pits left behind by the galamsey activities. These treacherous craters, brimming with water, serve as potential traps for unsuspecting students, particularly during break periods when the innocent laughter of children fills the air.
Yet, it is not just the educators who are gripped by apprehension; the residents of Accra New Town share in the collective unease.
