We’re studying Serwaa Broni’s “scandalous allegations” against Akufo-Addo – Minority

“These allegations, if proven to be true, raise grave charges of abuse of office, human right violations and conduct which bring the high office of President of Ghana into disrepute

The Minority in Parliament says it is conducting further investigations into what it has described as scandalous allegations against the Presidency by a Canadian-based Ghanaian, Serwaa Broni.

According to Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, the allegations of abuse of power and human rights abuse levelled against the presidency if proven true, brings the highest office of the land into disrepute.

This follows an interview by Serwaa Broni, a self-acclaimed mistress of President Akufo-Addo in which she alleges some people in government-sponsored attacks on her with the intention of silencing her from divulging details of the affair.

Commenting on the development in a statement issued on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, the Minority Caucus said “it has “become aware of very scandalous allegations contained in an interview granted Mr Ekow Kevin Taylor by Madam Evelyn Serwaa Broni on Easter Sunday the 17th of April 2022.”

“These allegations, if proven to be true, raise grave charges of abuse of office, human right violations and conduct which bring the high office of President of Ghana into disrepute” the statement signed by Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu said.

“The NDC Caucus has consequently requested and obtained a copy of the full interview in issue for further study, transcription and legal analysis. The caucus will very soon convey to Ghanaians the actions to be taken on the basis of the outcome of the ongoing legal analysis of the matter. The Caucus remains committed to holding public officers accountable to the high standards set by our Constitution,” it added.
